If i click on Headset, i will get the razer synapse audio, and hear through my headphones So if i plug both in, i will have "Headset (Razer Surround Audio Controller)" (i named it Headset myself in windows) and Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) which i also named to "Speakers". My Speakers are also analog, having an 3.5mm audio jack going to the back of the PC, the green port. Razer Kraken Pro's have a adapter from 1 cable to 2 cables one for the mic and one for the headphones. Let it make the changes in Windows for you. One thing that you may need to do is make the changes on the motherboards chipset software instead of windows. Windows and the motherboard will know which one has something plugged into it. That port will be feeding both and will never actually change from one to the other. If you try to use both from a y adapter then you do not have those choices. Note that if I disconnect the headset the computer will automatically revert back to using the built-in speakers and microphone.If you plug the speakers in on the back of the computer then the headphones in on the front of the computer you should be able to simply select the one you want to use and not have to restart. This will put the headset in mono mode and allow the microphone to work. To ensure that both the headset speakers and microphone work at the same time I set the default playback to Headset.
I right-click on speaker icon on taskbar tray and left-click on Sounds Note I can always override this at any time. To ensure that the right selection is always done automatically I have to go further and set the default to "Headphones (Arctis 3 Bluetooth Hands-Free AG Audio)". Then the headset speakers will work but the the headset microphone will not work. However, I found that next time the computer might choose "Headphones (Arctis 3 Bluetooth Stereo)". I found out that if I select "Headphones (Arctis 3 Bluetooth Hands-Free AG Audio)" the headset microphone will work. Headphones (Arctis 3 Bluetooth Hands-Free AG Audio) = Headphones mono mode.Headphones (Arctis 3 Bluetooth Stereo) = Headphones stereo mode.Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) = Laptops built-in speakers.I I left-click on speaker icon on taskbar tray I see my options for the speakers: Here is the information from my computer: If the headset's speakers are used in mono mode then the microphone will work. With Bluetooth 4.x there is not enough bandwidth for both the headset's stereo speakers and the microphone at the same time.
If you are using Bluetooth you will find there is a gotcha when using a headset with a microphone. Are you using a wired or wireless connection?
